Description
PTFE Polymer O-Rings: Probably one of the most widely used and simplest types of seal. O-Ring seals are found everywhere from plumbing installations to the space shuttle. More specifically, O-Rings can be found in engines, gearboxes, garden hoses and pumps etc. They can be used as face-to-face seals (like a gasket) or as shaft seals and facilitate both rotary and linear movement. PTFE is the most chemically inert material of all the other O-Ring materials. The PTFE material is incredibly versatile and can when in contact with; acids, bases, oils, steam, weather, low or high temperatures and the ozone. They have a wide operating temperature range from – 185 deg Celsius up to + 232 Deg Celsius and a high degree of chemical resistance. Benefits: The material is incredibly resistant to almost anything, resistant to extreme temperatures, extremely smooth material, low amount of adhesion, low friction, non-flammable, suitable for food environments and has no moisture absorption.
