Clear Silicone Rubber O Rings: Probably one of the most widely used and simplest types of seal they are found everywhere from plumbing installations to the space shuttle, they are common in engines and gearboxes, garden hoses, pumps etc. Silicone seals offer a wide temperature range and have excellent resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging as well as good insulating and physically neutral properties. Retention of properties of silicone at high temperature is superior to most other elastic materials. Many forms of silicone are by design hygienic however for use within the food industry they need specific certification, available on request. They can be used as face-to-face seals (like a gasket) or as shaft seals and facilitate both rotary and linear movement. They have a wide operating temperature range from – 55 deg Celsius up to + 225 deg Celsius and a high degree of chemical resistance.
