This bearing has one-sided metal shielding and one open side. Metal Shielded Deep Groove Ball Bearings with Snap Ring are a popular choice where the housing forms part of a machine frame casing. These bearings are manufactured with a single metal shield on one side to protect against light mechanical damage and contamination, while The side allows for lubrication flow and inspection access. The snap ring, made from durable spring steel, fits securely into an annular groove on the outer race—offset to one side—to provide accurate axial location in housings.

This combination of a single metal shield and snap ring makes the bearing versatile, offering both protection and lubrication flexibility in demanding applications.

Benefits: Snap ring for secure axial location in housings, light mechanical protection, partial dust and moisture resistance, open side for relubrication, lubricated for life on shielded side, maintenance-free operation.
