Nitrile Rubber X Rings with 70 Shore Hardness: The four-lobed design of quad rings provides twice the sealing surface in comparison to a standard O-Ring. The double-seal action requires less compression to maintain an effective seal. This reduced compression results in less friction, longer seal life and a lower risk of twisting. They are found everywhere from plumbing installations to the space shuttle, they are common in engines and gearboxes, garden hoses, pumps etc. Quad Rings have an advantage over standard O-rings as the parting lines are between the lobes, away from the sealing surface. This eliminates the problems of leakage that often results from a parting line’s irregular surface as found on an O-Ring. In these cases, X rings provide a better, more uniform seal. Quad Rings are designed to outperform a standard O-Ring in rotary seal applications. The four-lobed configuration creates a more stable seal avoiding spiral twisting. This allows for a narrower groove width than a standard O-Ring groove. However, it can also be used in a standard O-Ring groove. They have a wide operating temperature range from – 30 deg Celsius up to + 120 deg Celsius and a high degree of chemical resistance.
