Insocoat Bearings: Special application bearings designed with an electrically insulating coating to protect against current flow through the bearing. A 100μm thick aluminium oxide layer is applied during manufacture, enabling the bearing to withstand voltages up to 1000V. This insulation helps prevent electrical erosion, fluting and premature failure in electric motors and other equipment exposed to stray currents.
