GS-19 Series Complete Coupling
The AROFLEX GS-19 is a high-precision, zero-backlash jaw coupling designed for servo motors, CNC axes, positioning drives and demanding automation applications.
This complete coupling set is supplied with two precision-machined aluminium hubs and a red 98 Shore A polyurethane spider. The spider is fitted under pre-load between the hub jaws, helping remove free play during reversal while still giving useful vibration damping and misalignment compensation.
Rated up to 35Nm with the red 98 Shore A insert, the GS-19 is well suited to high dynamic loads, frequent reversing cycles and servo-driven applications where repeatability and accurate torque transmission matter.
The harder 98 Shore A polyurethane spider gives a more direct torsional response than softer inserts and provides good resistance to oils, chemicals and temperature variation, with an operating range of -30°C to +90°C continuous and short peaks up to +120°C.
Where specified, AROFLEX GS hubs are supplied with ISO H7 finished bores for a consistent shaft fit. Keyed versions can be supplied with DIN 6885 / JS9 keyways where applicable, helping provide secure torque transmission and accurate hub location.
If a standard bore size is not suitable, we can bespoke machine the hubs to your required bore size, with typical machining lead times of 3–5 working days.
Key Features
Zero-backlash under pre-load
The straight jaw profile and preloaded spider help remove free play between the hubs during reversal.
Rated torque up to 35Nm
Based on the red 98 Shore A insert, making this size suitable for dynamic servo and automation applications.
98 Shore A polyurethane spider
Harder insert for higher torsional stiffness, direct response and good resistance to oils, chemicals and temperature variation.
Precision-machined aluminium hubs
Lightweight aluminium hubs help reduce rotational inertia and support fast dynamic response.
ISO H7 finished bores
Where specified, bores are machined to ISO H7 tolerance for a consistent and accurate shaft fit.
DIN 6885 / JS9 keyways where applicable
Keyed versions can be supplied with JS9 keyways for secure torque transmission.
Bespoke bore machining available
Custom bore sizes can be machined to suit your shaft requirements, typically within 3–5 working days.
Vibration damping and misalignment compensation
The elastomer spider helps absorb shock loads and minor misalignment while maintaining backlash-free operation.
Jaw safety profile
The jaw design helps maintain mechanical engagement if the spider becomes worn, but the coupling should not be operated with a damaged insert.
Typical Applications
- Servo motor drives
- CNC machine axes
- Stepper motor systems
- Robotics and automation equipment
- Packaging machinery
- Linear positioning systems
- Encoder and feedback-driven motion control
AROFLEX GS couplings are a good choice where you need the damping of an elastomer jaw coupling, but cannot accept the play found in a standard jaw coupling. They are commonly used on servo, CNC and automation drives where repeatability, smooth running and accurate torque transmission are important.
It is also worth noting that GS-style jaw couplings are not as torsionally rigid as bellows or disc couplings. The preloaded spider removes backlash, but the elastomer element will still have some torsional compliance. For applications where maximum stiffness is the priority, a bellows or disc coupling may be the better option.
