This week has been a contrast of manufacturing small bespoke (06B – 3/8”) sprockets for packaging machinery to large (32B – 2” pitch) sprockets for the Aggregate industry.

The main production line of a large Bakery producing Millions of Burger Buns was stopped due to the failure of a Worm Gearbox.

Luckily Arrow Engineering had spare Worm Wheels, Gaskets, Seals and Bearings on the shelf, so it was only a matter of stripping down and assembling the damaged Gearbox. The Gearbox was repaired, returned within 4 hours and production up and running same evening.

A local Bakery were in a fix for a replacement sieve, the stainless steel mesh had split and the sieve was leaking.

The Sieve was a Bespoke Special 25” diameter, 1mm aperture .35mm wire gauge 304 stainless steel mesh.

The sieve was collected on Saturday afternoon, repaired and returned on Sunday afternoon.

Besides carrying stocks of standard sprockets, Arrow also make bespoke sprockets. These 2” Pitch 17 tooth Double Simplex Sprockets, were cut on Arrow’s Sunderland 19.

The launch of a new biscuit, from a leading manufacturer was threatening to be delayed due to a long lead time from Italy of a special wear guide for a conveyor.

Arrow Engineering were able to produce this within 2 weeks, in time for the installation of the new Biscuit Conveyor Belt.

Three pairs of 1240mm long, Left Hand and Right Hand, special profile Wear Guides, were manufactured in PET Polymer by our XYZ BRM 60/100 Bed Mill
