Roller Bearings
At Arrow Engineering we stock a wide range of roller bearings. Made to support and guide rotating or oscillating applications and machine elements. These type of bearings provide high precision and low friction allowing for a reduction in noise, heat, energy consumption and wear. Below we have explained the different types of roller bearings and their uses.
Cylindrical Bearings, the inner and outer rings are separable – this facilitates mounting and dismounting. They are in linear contact with the raceways and have a high radial load capacity and are suitable for high speeds.
Needle Bearings consist of two rings and a large number of needle rollers which are retained and guided by a cage. The prime feature of needle roller bearings is their high load capacity in spite of a low section height, thus meeting the requirements of lightweight constructions as regards high capacity in restricted mounting space.
Taper Bearings are separable, the cone with roller and cage assembly and the cup can be mounted separately. The modified line contact between rollers and raceways eliminates edge stressing. They also accommodate high radial and axial loads – as these bearings can transmit axial loads only in one direction, a second, symmetrically arranged tapered roller bearing is usually needed for counter guidance.
